DTB Classic Business Account
Run your day-to-day business banking with a flexible Kenya Shilling current account that charges you when you transact rather than through a fixed monthly fee. DTB Classic Business Account has no opening amount or minimum balance and gives eligible businesses access to a debit card, cheque book, mobile banking, internet banking and e-statements.
Overview
DTB Classic Business Account is designed for sole proprietors, partnerships, companies and other eligible organisations that need a dedicated Kenya Shilling account for day-to-day business transactions.
Use the account to keep business funds separate from personal money, receive business income, manage supplier and operating payments, withdraw cash when needed and maintain a clear transaction record for your enterprise. The account uses a pay-as-you-go pricing structure: there is no fixed monthly fee, so charges arise when you use chargeable banking services.
There is no opening amount or minimum balance. Account access includes a debit card, cheque book, mobile banking, internet banking and free e-statements. If your business regularly receives or pays in foreign currency, compare the separate DTB Foreign Currency Current Accounts before choosing the account structure that best fits your cash flows.

New businesses still need to meet DTB's registration, KYC and financial-information requirements. Ask DTB what management accounts or undertakings are accepted if the business is too new to have audited financial statements.
Separating business and personal money can make bookkeeping, tax documentation, cash-flow tracking and financial review clearer. It can also help a business build its own banking history and operate using the correct legal entity or business name rather than relying on an owner's personal account.
A current account is generally better for frequent payments, withdrawals and operational transactions, while a savings account is better for money the business wants to set aside and potentially earn interest on.
